And the Lord , he it is that doth go before thee; he will be with thee, he will not fail thee, neither forsake thee: fear not, neither be dismayed. Deuteronomy 31:8 KJV
There is nothing as precarious as taking a step into the unknown. There are always forebodings of some danger lurking ahead. Even Moses, the great prophet and leader of God’s people felt the same way too when he told God, “If thy presence go not with me, carry us not up hence (Exodus 33:15).” Similarly, when the sons of the prophets ventured into the woods to fetch timber for the expansion of their dormitory, they asked Elisha, their master, to go with them (2 Kings 6:3).
There is, however, a feeling of great confidence when someone who knows the destination unknown to you offers to go with you. Reasons are
- He knows the way and has mastered the terrain
- He has been there before and returned safely
- He holds the wherewithal to circumvent all odds on the way
- He can answer all your questions and handle your uncertainties on the way.
The way ahead of you is unknown to you. Each new day, week, month or year poses a challenge of a feeling of fear of the unknown. Some actually feel they may meet their end in the journey ahead. God, however, has promised He would go with you. With Him at your side, you can be rest assured all your uncertainties will be resolved. The Lord knows the way through the wilderness, all you have to do is to follow. He sees and knows the end from the beginning and can tell you how the day, the week, the month and the year will end for you.
You can afford to cast your care upon Him for He has promised neither to leave nor forsake you. If you are anxious about how your tomorrow will be or how your year will end, conscious of His presence with you, you can confidently engage Him and say, “Lord, I don’t know what my tomorrow holds, but I know you know it; I don’t know how my year will end, but I know you know it. I also know you love me and hold my future. Take over my fears, my anxieties, even my doubts; and let them end in praise of your. Amen.” His presence is with you. If you still doubt it, kneel down, right now, confess your sins to Him and hand over your life to Him by inviting Him into your life as your Lord and personal Saviour. You need Him by your side ALWAYS.
